Bill Parrott is the founder and owner of Parrott Wealth Management, an independent, fee-only, fiduciary financial planning and investment management firm located in Austin, Texas.
Bill started his investment career in May of 1989 with the investment firm of Spelman & Company in San Diego. He joined Dean Witter Reynolds in Pasadena, California in 1990. During his career as a Financial Advisor with Dean Witter (and later Morgan Stanley) he worked in California, Connecticut and Texas. In 1999 he became the Branch Manager for Morgan Stanley in New Haven, Connecticut. In 2003 he moved to Austin to manage the Morgan Stanley offices in Austin, College Station and Temple. He was hired as a Co-Branch Manager and Financial Consultant for A.G. Edwards & Sons in Austin in 2006. He joined Charles Schwab in 2008 as a Financial Consultant in the Executive Services Division.
Bill earned his Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of San Diego in 1988. While at USD he was an active member of the varsity football team and the Sigma Chi fraternity. Bill has been married to his wife Tonya for 25 years and they have one daughter.
In 2003 Bill obtained the Certified Financial Planner designation.
Bill enjoys reading, running, fly-fishing and hiking. In 2011 Bill ran and finished the Boston Marathon.
Bill currently volunteers his time with the Austin Christian Fellowship Church. As an active member Bill has participated in several local and international mission trips including Haiti, Nicaragua and Mexico. He has also volunteered with the children and youth ministries. He’s the current Pro-Bono Director for the Financial Planning Association of Austin.
He is the author of two investment books: Up the Income Ladder: Generate More Income in Retirement and A View from The Perch – A Collection of Financial Blogs, Short Stories and other Musings.
